Establishment of NCCC
The NCCC was initially formed in April 2010, following the successful bid to the Department of Health and Ageing by the University of Wollongong to develop:
- The Eighth Edition of ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS (International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Tenth Revision, Australian Modification, Australian Classification of Health Interventions, Australian Coding Standards), and
- The Australian Refined Diagnosis Related Group (AR-DRG) classification, Version 7.0.
On the completion of this project, the NCCC refocussed its core business towards casemix analytics and research in health services funding and management.
The establishment of the NCCC builds on the research that AHSRI has been undertaking for over a decade and complements other AHSRI centres, in particular, the Centre for Health Service Development (CHSD).
